Starbucks Freak!

As you know, I love to have my daily cup of jo. However, I've turned into a little bit of a coffee snob over the years and only drink Starbucks. Every morning, I visit the same location and have the same drink; Venti Sugar-free Hazelnut Americano. I've tried several other drinks, but always go back to my favourite. It's low in calories and fat, but full of flavour. Most people think I'm crazy to spend $3.73 everyday when I could make it at home, but it's just not the same. I also figured that since I had to cut out all my favourite treats because of my gluten allergy, I shouldn't be totally deprived. My dad suggested I get a part-time job there to save money, but I'm not sure they would appreciate my coffee making skills. I'm a terrible coffee maker!!! I don't think I'm ready to put on the green apron just yet.

P.S. I’m dying to try the new Mint Mocha Chip Frappuchino. Let me know what you think if you try it!

Go Stamps Go!!!

Last week was a great week for us football fans! We were fortunate to have one of the greatest football players (and step-dads!), Herm Harrison, join my afternoon class for a quick Football 101 /pre-season pep talk. Herm shared some of his football stories, took us through the changes in equipment and technology since he played in the 60s and early 70s, and his thoughts on Canada before he immigrated to this amazing country. Not only did we learn a little about football, but we got to practice listening to a native speaker and ask him some questions.

Friday night, Laura and I joined the activity and went to the pre-season game against the Edmonton Eskimos. It was an exciting game for the Stamps, but a sad one for Karen and the rest of the Eskimo fans. The score was 39-14. The new head coach, John Hufnagel, played all 4 of his quarterbacks and felt that they did some good things and that it was a good starting point. I'm so excited to see where he will take this team and how they will respond to him on and off the field. We had great seats close to the end zone, and got to see the horse run after all their touchdowns. Karen even got a chance to 'ruff up' the team mascot, Harvey the Hound. It was hysterical!!! The team finishes up their pre-season games this Thursday in Vancouver against the B.C. Lions. Go Stamps Go!!!
